Tundra® EC is a restricted-use insecticide containing 25.1% bifenthrin. It is designed for agricultural use to control various insect and acaricide pests. The product can be applied via ground spray, aerial application (ULV or non-ULV), or through irrigation systems. When used with irrigation, it must be diluted to ensure accurate coverage. The label notes that bifenthrin-tolerant insect/mite biotypes may develop resistance, so integrated pest management (IPM) practices and rotating with different modes of action are recommended. Handling requires significant care: the product is toxic if swallowed and can cause eye injury. It is also highly toxic to fish and aquatic organisms; strict buffer zones must be maintained near aquatic habitats (ranging from 25 to 450 feet depending on application method). Applicators must wear personal protective equipment, including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves (such as barrier laminate, nitrile, or neoprene), shoes plus socks, and protective eyewear. Always check local regulations regarding endangered species and weather conditions like temperature inversions before application.
