Chairman is a post-harvest fungicide used to control saprophytic surface molds and butt rot in specific crops. It is a supoemulsion (SE) formulation containing two active ingredients: Fludioxonil (21.7%) and Propiconazole (9.3%). It is specifically labeled for use on Pineapple (to control Penicillium spp., Cladosporium spp., and Ceratocystis paradoxa) and Stone Fruit (including apricot, nectarine, peach, plum, damson, Japanese plum, and prune) to control diseases such as brown rot, gray mold, Rhizopus rot, Gilbertella rot, and sour rot. Application methods include drenching, directed peduncle spray, in-line dip/drench (for nectarines only), and in-line aqueous or fruit coating spray. For pineapple, a single application is defined as both a drench and a directed peduncle spray. Users must maintain agitation during mixing and application to keep the solution in suspension. Handling requires caution: it is harmful if swallowed and can cause moderate eye irritation. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes long-sleeved shirts, long pants, shoes plus socks, and chemical-resistant gloves (butyl rubber, nitrile, neoprene, PVC, or Viton). Depending on the task, a NIOSH-approved particulate respirator or supplied air may be required. The product is toxic to fish, aquatic invertebrates, oysters, and shrimp; do not contaminate water with washwaters or rinsates.
